About Momentum:

At Momentum, we accelerate digital innovation in healthcare. Our mission is to empower HealthTech startups and scaleups by transforming ideas into cutting-edge digital products. We combine deep industry expertise, strategic consulting, and full-stack development to create solutions that drive growth, compliance, and patient impact.

We believe in technology that makes healthcare more accessible, efficient, and human-centered.

Role overview:

At Momentum you'll own the growth, development and retention of a group of software engineers who work across our client projects — including engineers embedded on-site with clients. You are their main point of contact inside Momentum for career, feedback and development. Day-to-day delivery is run by Tech Leads and Project Managers; your focus is the people, not the project backlog. You make sure every engineer has someone who knows them, invests in their growth, and makes sure they don't get lost.

What you'll do:

  • Own regular 1:1s, feedback and individual development plans for a group of ~[40–50] engineers across multiple tech stacks.
  • Run performance evaluations and own compensation / raise recommendations within a company-wide calibration framework.
  • Be the retention owner — spot disengagement early and act on it, with particular attention to engineers embedded at client sites, who have the least day-to-day contact with Momentum.
  • Proactively collect performance feedback from clients for embedded engineers (where the client, not Momentum, runs day-to-day work).
  • Partner with Tech Leads (technical performance), Project Managers (delivery / utilization) and the team, to build an accurate, well-rounded picture of each engineer.
  • Support staffing and allocation decisions together with CTO.
  • Contribute to our leveling, competency frameworks, onboarding and people processes.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven people-management experience in a software / tech environment (managing engineers or engineering teams).
  • Technical literacy — an engineering / CS background or hands-on tech experience — enough to hold credible career conversations with senior engineers and understand their work across different stacks. (Essential: you don't need to be a hands-on coder, but you must be taken seriously by strong engineers.)
  • Experience managing distributed / remote people, including team members you don't see every day.
  • Strong 1:1, coaching and feedback skills, with a track record of retaining and growing engineers.
  • Experience running performance reviews and compensation discussions.
  • High emotional intelligence, trust-building, discretion and a genuine interest in people's development.
  • Native Polish and strong English (you'll gather feedback from international clients).

Nice to have:

  • Prior hands-on software engineering experience (e.g. a former developer or Tech Lead who moved into management).
  • Experience in a software house / agency / consulting setting — project-based work, multiple clients, utilization dynamics.
  • Familiarity with career ladders, competency frameworks and calibration processes.
  • Exposure to HealthTech or other regulated domains.

What success looks like (first 6–12 months):

  • Every engineer in your group has regular 1:1s and a clear development path.
  • Measurably improved engagement and retention, including among embedded engineers.
  • A reliable, calibrated view of performance that feeds fair, consistent compensation decisions.

What We Value:

  • Clarity in focus and dedication to building digital products that elevate healthcare and improve quality of life.
  • Flair to face challenges with boldness, creativity, and a proactive mindset.
  • Grit to take ownership, stay ambitious, and deliver refined, high-quality solutions.
  • Impact through meaningful innovation that makes pioneering medical discoveries accessible and human-centered.
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently in teams of technical and non-technical individuals, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives and iteration with users.

What we offer:

  • Modern Workspace: We provide a modern and comfortable office environment, right in the heart of Wrocław.
  • Work-Life Harmony: Enjoy flexible working hours, allowing you to find the perfect balance between work and life.
  • Stay Active: Our company Multisport benefit encourages you to stay fit and take care of your well-being.
  • Your Health Matters: Access to private healthcare ensures you're taken care of when you need it most.
  • Remote Support: For our remote team members we offer reimbursement for necessary and the non-necessary office visits.
  • Freedom of choice: We understand that we all have different lifestyles and needs, that's why the Worksmile Cafeteria System gives you access to hundreds of non-wage benefits to choose from.
  • Security and peace of mind: We provide the option to join our comprehensive insurance plan, for your and your loved one’s security.
  • Team Building & Development Fun(d): We believe in the power of fun and development, and microfunds are here to bring some excitement into your work-life or you can access them to develop your skills and gain knowledge.
